Stress is an unavoidable part of our everyday lives. For some it can be a good motivator, but for others it can have a detrimental effect on your mental and physical well-being.
I spoke with not only students in the RISD community, but also mental healthcare professionals to learn about how anxiety and stress is dealt with on a professional and personal level.

In order to better understand my target demographic, I identified three distinct user attributes and created two journey user maps to represent different users from opposite ends of the spectrum.

Smart watches have become increasingly prevalent in our society today. In addition to the already existing heart rate monitor and haptic abilities, its inconspicuous wearability and discreet interface make it an ideal platform for this UI.
Playlists
Exercises
The smart watch registers the user’s heart rate has quickened and checks with the user to confirm an anxiety attack and begins the recovery process.
The phone UI is guides the user through the rest of the recovery process following the intial recovery experience on the watch UI.
Onboarding
First time users input information and set up preferences. Comma is customised and unique for each user to create personalised recovery experiences.
Home
The Homepage serves as a shortcut to access and create new playlists, and users can search existing playlists and exercises.
Playlists
Playlists contain a myriad of exercises and are sorted into Recent, My Playlists, and Suggested respectively.
Users can create their own personalised playlists tailored for specific triggers or situations.
Insights + Settings
Comma generates content based on the user’s own input to inform the user and represent statistical information.
The user accesses Settings to customise their profile and dictate how Comma responds on the watch UI in the event of an anxiety attack.
Journal
Users are able to journal about incidents and record detailed anxiety experiences. These data entries inform Insights and provide a visual representation of possible recurring patterns.
